“I joined The HardCore Gym at 40 years old looking for a fun way to get myself in better shape. With no prior grappling experience, I really had no expectations about what their Brazilian Jiu Jitsu program would be like. As a fan of mixed martial arts, I was already aware of the gym’s reputation for producing world champion fighters. It didn’t take long to see why – the BJJ program is ran by three black belts and several other advanced level (purple and brown belt) instructors with years of experience, and whose past trainers and training partners are literally a “who’s who” of the BJJ world. Students are taught first and foremost the basics of BJJ defense and offense in a patient, friendly learning environment. The training I received helped me win my division at the North American Grappling Association (NAGA) National Championships after only five months, and I’ve lost nearly 30 pounds and feel stronger than ever.
